I saw these shoes advertized in Backpacker Magazine and decided to try them out for myself. I bought these shoes for freerunning and for the occasional scramble/hike when I can make it to the Rockies. (They also look pretty sick just to wear around). I have not hiked in them yet, but I have done freerunning in them.

First thing I noticed with these shoes is that they are very well built. Quality materials and workmanship are evident. They are also very comfortable. They do not have much cushioning, which is not a bad thing, as it gives you more control.

The special rubber they use for the grip of the shoe is fantastic, it really does have superior traction compared to any other shoe I have owned. The exception to this rule is that the rubber performs poorly on surfaces that are completely smooth, such as tile. But seeing as this shoe isn't meant for indoors, that is a negligible problem.

However, the shoe does come about a half size too large. If you are hiking and wear thicker socks, this is actually a bonus. If you are freerunning or just wearing them around with normal socks it can be a disadvantage. Just take that into account.
