My first experience with these shoes was so good that I ordered a second pair! My first pair lasted about a year of daily pedestrian commuting and every day wear, eventually wearing thin in the heel. It is true that these shoes are squeaky out of the box, but being able to feel the lines of sidewalks in an urban enviornment and the delicate contours of surface roots on a forrest trail is well worth the temporary resistant screams of shoes on tile. These shoes are true to size and feel as if they have been well broken in. The wide toe allows for expansion of the toes leaving your feet some space to spread out and function as they are supposed to. I work in an office setting and totally pull these off.. Oh and they are puddle proof provided the puddle is more shallow that the top of the shoe.
