A true minimalist boot featuring a 5mm "drop" between the heel and forefoot, the Mini-Mil is designed specifically for the conditioned warrior athlete currently training in minimalistic athletic footwear. This quick-drying unlined boot is not only highly breathable, but lightweight too weighing less than 2lbs per pair.

The upper is made out of grain-out leather and 1000 denier Cordura nylon. The Mini-Mil features a compression molded EVA midsole and a single density molded EVA insole. The rugged, long-wearing outsole is made of VIBRAM "Tarsus" oil and slip resistant rubber.

First let me say that I am not military. I am an avid outdoor enthusiast. I bought these to replace older, stiffer boots for hiking and scrambling. I have been Barefoot training for over ten years. And when I say Barefoot, I mean "NO SHOES". I really enjoy the this and flexible new wave of shoes that mimic Barefooting. However, Real feet callous up and don't where out, while "Five fingers" along with other ultra light shoes haven't lasted long on my feet. Perhaps a month before holes develop in the fabric between my toes or the soles begin falling off. These Mini-Mill Boots are epic tough. Built as a real army boot. There less flexible than "Five fingers" but far more flexy than a normal boot. Extremely comfortable. Very little break in required. I just wore them through the creek and hiked a bit two days in a row. Let them dry on my feet and wore them around the house. Now they fit like a glove.
I am totally stoked. Build Quality is outstanding. Ground feel is good. Water resistance is good. Everything about them is good. Even the heal counter is good. It Allows digging the heal in to break on a steep downhill in mud. No blisters yet. Next weekend I will take them on there first backpacking trip. I will report back after that....
